  1. Shifts Focus & Attracts Abundance : The power of gratitude lies in its ability to shift our focus from dwelling on what's lacking to appreciating the abundance around us. By acknowledging everything we have, we align our consciousness with abundance, inviting more positivity into our lives. This can look like being grateful for a place to sleep at night, food to keep you nourished, or even music to quiet the busy world around you. Simply acknowledging little things that we are grateful for takes us away from a "lack mindset" which makes us feel like we don't have enough or nothing we are doing will ever be enough. When you start to move away from a lack mindset and into an abundance mindset, watch how differently you start experiencing the world. You start being more present and intune with the environment around you rather than thinking of 20 different things at once. Spiritually, abundance is not merely material wealth, but a state of consciousness characterized by a deep sense of fulfillment and connection. By expressing gratitude for the abundance already present in our lives, we open ourselves to receiving even greater blessings from the universe.

Before I started practicing gratitude every morning, I remember feeling like I never had enough. I would scroll mindlessly on instagram and look at influencers and think to myself: "How come I dont have this life?" or "Why can't I look like this?" These thoughts genuinely took away from the quality of my life and ended up with me comparing myself to quite literally everyone. When I sat down and practiced gratitude, I noticed a quick change in around a week. I was starting to notice that things I didn't notice before made me instantaneously happy like the gentle breeze or the sound of laughter outside. Even something as simple as taking a walk would boost my mood instantly because I expressed gratitude for the nature around me as well as the sun.

  3. Reduces Stress: Spiritually, stress is often viewed as a result of being disconnected from the present moment and the divine source of all life. Gratitude serves as a powerful antidote to stress by grounding us in the present moment and reminding us of everything beautiful around us, regardless of external challenges.

Gratitude practices have been revered for their ability to cultivate a sense of inner peace and serenity, nurturing a positive mindset that supports overall mental and emotional balance. Through the act of acknowledging and expressing gratitude, we shift our focus from dwelling on negativity to embracing the abundance that surrounds us. This shift in perspective fosters a positive mindset that can significantly enhance our mental and emotional resilience. By nurturing gratitude as a daily practice, we create a foundation of inner strength and balance that supports our overall well-being.

Gratitude serves as a potent catalyst for manifestation, creating a mindset of abundance and prosperity. By acknowledging and appreciating what we already possess—whether it be our health, safety, or financial stability—we align our energy with the frequency of abundance. Conversely, dwelling in a state of lack, stress, or envy only serves to attract more of the same energy into our lives.

The Science Behind Expressing Gratitude


IgA stands out as a crucial protein that bolsters the body's immune system by combatting a range of pathogens like bacteria and viruses. Considered the frontline defender internally, it acts as a formidable shield against invading threats and existing microorganisms within the body. IgA is like a defense mechanism, surpassing the efficacy of typical flu shots or boosters, as it's naturally produced by the body.


During a workshop, Joe Dispenza conducted a study measuring participants' IgA levels alongside their cortisol levels. These two substances exhibit an inverse relationship: when one increases, the other decreases. Elevated stress hormones, like cortisol, can suppress IgA levels, consequently weakening the immune system's ability to combat illnesses and promote healing. To test the impact of emotional states on immune function, Joe Dispenza and his team tasked 120 research attendees with engaging in exercises aimed at evoking elevated emotions such as love, joy, or gratitude, rather than survival emotions like fear or anger, for brief intervals over several days.


The results were strikingly affirmative. By actively fostering positive emotional states, participants experienced a significant decrease in cortisol levels and a substantial increase in IgA levels, effectively bolstering their immune function. At the conclusion of the retreat, cortisol levels had dropped by three standard deviations, while IgA levels had surged by an impressive 49.5 percent. This underscores the profound influence of emotions on physiological processes and emphasizes the importance of nurturing positive mental states to support overall well-being.


The positive emotions of love, joy, and gratitude trigger specific chemicals in our bodies that activate and enhance the expression of our genes. Conversely, negative emotions can have the opposite effect, dampening gene expression and impacting our overall well-being. This highlights the importance of being mindful of the signals we send to our bodies through our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors

What I Do To Practice Gratitude


Every morning, I make it a ritual to embrace gratitude as soon as I wake up. It's a simple yet powerful practice that sets the tone for my day ahead. With a quiet mind, I take a few minutes to reflect on everything that I'm thankful for. Sitting down with my journal, I list eight things that I am thankful for. These can range from the seemingly mundane, like the warmth of my cozy bed, to something big such as the love I feel from my friends. With each item I jot down, I pause and allow myself to truly feel the depth of gratitude within me. It's not just about waking up and writing down what I'm grateful for like a robot every morning, but truly genuinely appreciating what I already have. This practice helps me to cultivate a mindset of abundance and positivity from the very start of my day. It reminds me that no matter what challenges may arise, there is always something to be grateful for. By consciously acknowledging and appreciating the goodness in my life, I feel uplifted and ready to embrace whatever comes my way.
